Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading

I'm an Intermediate Member of the CIEP and I follow its code of conduct. In order to retain my membership I need to keep my training and CPD up to date, so you know your work is in safe hands. Copyediting

I use Microsoft Word track changes unless you have a preferred process.

Proofreading

There are a few options I can use depending on your preference: I can mark up printed page layouts using BSI symbols; mark up digital PDFs using text commenting and mark-up tools; proofread directly into Adobe InDesign files; or I can use your own CMS (content management system) if I'm working directly on the layout itself for any digital content, websites, blogs, etc. 

Book publishers

I'm happy to be approached by commissioning editors with either your standard fee for copyediting and/or proofreading, or your budget for the project. 

Email me with as much detail about the work as you can and I'll let you know if I can work to your budget and timescales.

All other work

I offer customised quotes on a project-by-project basis. The price will reflect the type of content, level of editing required and how quickly you want the work completed. 

Contact me with the following information:

• Word count
• Schedule – when I'll receive the work and what is your deadline?
• Service – do you want proofreading or copyediting? If you don't know, we can chat.
• Details – the more you can tell me about your project the better. For example, is it an annual report, a non-fiction illustrated book, website copy or a marketing brochure? Written by one person or multi-author?

I can offer quotes per 1,000 words, per hour, per day or as a fixed fee, depending on what works best for you.
